Feeling 22

Twenty two...

Wow, a whole twenty two! I really am I big somebody now I guess. It;s weird to think I'm actually this age when really I still feel 18 most times. I couldn't think of any better way to enter this age feeling as grateful and blessed as I do. I've really been blessed with some amazing friends and family who encourage and support me daily. Below are a few changes I'm putting in place for myself in this new age.

1. Be positive always - Even when times are tough and seem like all is lost, keep on smiling and laughing. I've found that laughing at bad situation takes away the negativity; problems are temporary and can be fixed.

2. Respect others if even they do not respect you - Never be petty, never do others how they do you. Your behavior should be a reflection on yourself and your values.

3. Be patient - As cliche as it sounds, good things really do come to those who wait, saying this from experience!

4. Be selfless - Be blessing to others not a burden, make people feel good whenever you can - genuinely.

6. Be a goalgetter - Never give up and always believe in yourself! Be your biggest fan always.

Do good & trust God xx

HairSlay for AW17

    New hair, who's this?

Autumn is my favourite time of year! From the clothes, converting to darker lipsticks, the build up to Christmas and of course my birthday! But one thing that is often not thought of is the type of hairstyles you can experiment with. I especially love going for loose waves during this time of year because I feel as though it represents and reflects perfectly the essence of autumn. Not to get all poetic but I feel as though the looseness of the hair mirrors the gradual change towards the end of the year and how the leaves start to fall away.

One product in particular which has caught my eye is a hair straightener, which has the perfect plate width to create the most enviable loose waves/curls. Having a frontal can be hard work so it’s great to have a product which makes styling easy. Below is a step-by-step guide to achieve a similar look!

1. Begin by placing the middle of a section of hair into a flat iron to create the first wave. Then, feed the piece in between the flat iron clamps in an "S" curve formation, clamping down on the shape to create the bends. Repeat these steps to end of the hair.

2. Alternatively, you can braid your hair and then use a flat iron on your braided hair to seal the waves/curls in place. Remember girls, it’s key to use a heat protector spray before using hot tools on your hair to minimize damage!

3. Using a flat iron like the Panasonic EH-HS95 above, feed a 1-inch section of hair closest to the nape of your neck in between  the flat iron. From there, twist your wrist away from your face, so the hair flows over (not under) the iron. Make sure the hair continues to wrap around the flat iron's barrel as you push the iron toward your ends, which will create the curl. Think of this technique in the same way you'd curl a ribbon with a scissor. Key tip!:, the smaller the section, the curlier your hair will be. ;)

Thank you for reading! Xx

Graduation!

                              Issa Graduate...
My type on paper ;)

3 Years all summed up with a cape and gown and a certificate. I still can't believe I've finally done it and how quick it has gone. Looking at these pictures, I am honestly proud of myself for coming this far and sticking with a course that my interest fizzled out for. Graduation was a hectic day, just as everything Sarahwise is! I was over an hour late and almost denied entry but somehow I ended up walking across the stage and collecting my certificate, (phew). But, anyway let me not waffle! Word of advice, what seems impossible can be possible with the right mindset and determination and with faith in God!

Sunkissed

                             Sunshine & Smiles...

So this is just a post of where I attempt to spread some positive vibes! I have just recently finished a three year degree and I cannot believe I actually made it and I cannot wait for the next step, Masters! Below is a few tips I would advise for those doing a University degree or anything that seems achievable or difficult to obtain. I know, I know, some of this advice has been said and heard before but it is never bad to have a friendly reminder!

1. Keep a tunnel vision - do not compare yourself to others, make yourself the focus.

2. Company - Surround yourself with those who motivate, uplift and support you.

                      3. Set yourself goals - this will push you to do better and get better.

      4. Problems/Stresses or issues - Ask yourself will this matter/affect me in a years time?

    5. Mistakes - Don't beat yourself up for them, put yourself down or blame yourself. Instead learn and grow from them.
